Fencing Club Information

When
  • Not at all
  • As at the start of 2005, we don't have enough interested people to fund the cost of the room.
  • Don't say "There's nothing to do around here" - there was but it's gone now because you didn't make use of it.
Where
  • Try Pembroke Dock.
Who
  • No one
What
  • I'm fed up with the whole thing
  • I can't be bothered paying my annual subscription to British Fencing.
  • I have to ask myself why I am paying £39 a year, pricipally to insure myself against claims from people I turn out voluntarily every week to coach.
  • I have to turn out at my own expense.
  • I don't get to fence anyone when I do get there.
Why
  • Bloomfield want £8.40 per night for a room. When we managed two or three fencers some weeks, it does not do a lot for club funds.
  • The kit used is perfectly good - but it's not acceptable for insurance purposes from 2006 and cannot be used because it doesn't have the right kite mark
  • No, we can't get a grant from SportLot because it would "be for replacement equipment". I have tried.
  • There doesn't seem to be any support so I am just going to drop off the radar and sod fencing.
  • I am going to take up canoeing. You don't have to take out insurance against stupid claims from stupid people, you can do it when you want and, with a bit of luck, you can catch supper when you're out there.
How Much
  • It was cheap and now it costs absolutely nothing
  • This web site will eventually go west too since I paid for it just like I paid for the Pembrokeshire fencing web site and nobody gave a damn about that when it went either.
